PhD Students
Sarah Jane completed her PhD in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program. She is currently offering psychological services to children, youth, and families at Anchor Psychological Services. Specifically, she offers individual and family therapy to those struggling with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and eating disorders.
Hien Nguyen completed her PhD in the Clinical Developmental program. Her research interests are in child and adolescent mental health, positive youth development, psychological strengths, and resiliency across development.
Meghan McPhie completed her PhD in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program. Her research interests are in the etiology and developmental trajectories of depression in adolescence and young adulthood. She is particularly interested in the role of physical activity in promoting psychological well-being among youth. Meghan's MA and PhD have been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
Petrice Gentile completed her Ph.D in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program. She is completed her clinical internship at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. She completed her Honours BA in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, and her Masters in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York. Her research interests are in the prevention and treatment of emotion dysregulation, suicide ideation, and non-suicidal self-harming in children and youth. She is also interested in investigating resilience factors to these mental health difficulties with the goal of developing evidence-based prevention programs. Petrice was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
Krysta Mc Donald completed her PhD in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program at York University. She completed her Honours BSc in Psychology (Co-op) at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include risk and resilience factors associated with mood disorders, long-term effects of trauma and abuse, emotional regulation, and non-suicidal self-injury in adolescents and young adults. She is also interested in applying basic research to the community and the clinic by developing or refining evidence-based prevention and treatment programs.
Masters Students
Fenote completed her MA in Developmental Science, building on the work of Samantha Chan, Ph.D. Specifically, her research investigated interpersonal and intrapersonal emotion regulation in emerging adults through a validation of the Difficulty in Regulation of Emotion (DIRE) Scale. She currently works as a psychoeducational consultant at Chisholm Psychology, assessing children, adolescents, and adults for learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and social-emotional disorders.
